Despite the crowds, there are still plenty of things to do in this incredible park. Hiking through the luscious forests, splashing in the waterfalls, or standing at the edge of the most spectacular overlooks on the east coast are just a few of the great things to do. throughout the year the mountains are blanketed in a smoke-like natural fog which gives the area its name.

• Rocky Mountains, Canada 

The Canadian Rockies are an immense mountain range. The range reaches all the way from the American border over the east of British Columbia and the west of Alberta.  

The landscape is absolutely breathtaking, making for unforgettable moments and adventures. However, planning a trip here can be a little overwhelming and time-consuming.  

As mentioned at the start of this video, we’ll now share our top three tips so you can be prepared for your Canadian Rockies road trip. 

Book your campgrounds or accommodation at least three to four months in advance. Spots book up really fast and there’s limited accommodation space in the mountains, so plan your trip early. Be prepared for all kinds of weather, including potential snow.  

The weather is very unpredictable at times even during the summer. Make sure to pack enough warm and waterproof clothing. 

The best time to visit the Canadian Rockies is between mid-June and the end of September. Because within that time frame, most of the lakes will be thawed and the roads will be open for driving.

• The Alps, Europe 

The Alps are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe, stretching approximately 1,200 kilometers (750 miles) across eight Alpine countries, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia and Switzerland.

Switzerland and Austria can be considered true Alpine countries, however some 750 miles (1,200 kilometers) long and more than 125 miles wide at their broadest point between Garmish-Partenkirchen, Germany, and Verona, Italy, the Alps cover more than 80,000 square miles.

The most famous mountain in the Alps is the Matterhorn. It’s the mountain of mountains, the king of the Alps, and many hikers have dreamed of exploring it.

• Serengeti National Park, Tanzania 

Stretching across the vast plains of northern Tanzania, the Serengeti derives its name from the local Maasai word meaning ‘land of endless plains’. For centuries, the Maasai people have shared this dramatic landscape with its wildlife and earned a fearsome reputation as warriors and skilled cattle herders.

Like much of the wildlife in the Serengeti, the semi-nomadic Maasai followed the rains. The Serengeti is governed by two distinct seasons: wet and dry. The wet season is split into two halves: The short rains and the long rains, with a dry pause in between. The dry season, which occurs from June through to October, is generally viewed as the most optimal for wildlife spotting. This has nothing to do with the volume of animals, but instead the ease of seeing them. 

Shorter grass makes animals more easily visible, whilst drying streams and water holes cause many to flock to an increasingly smaller area. However, this by no means insinuates that other months are lousy. Not at all. The Serengeti offers phenomenal wildlife spotting all year round. And visiting out of season has its big advantages. For those who are keen to skip the heavier crowds, the wet season can bring a feeling of having the park all to yourself.

• Big Sur, California 

If you haven’t heard of this iconic California destination, Big Sur is a huge stretch of coastline between Carmel and San Simeon. It’s on a scenic highway one pretty much right in between San Francisco and LA. If you’re on a PCH road trip or just going from one city to the other this is a well worth tour. Ideally, you can come for a few days because it is incredible, a massive area of untouched land, and there are so many things to do, so much to see, so much to hike.

• The Amazon, South America 

Amazon rainforest located in South America is the biggest forest in the world. This vast jungle covers an area as big as two-thirds of the United States and is still full of mystery unknown to mankind but together with this mystery also comes a reputation.

Frogs, snakes, and spiders even drinking its water are extremely harmful and this is why Amazon Rainforest is one of the most hostile places to a newcomer.  

The end of April is the heart of flooding season. For tourists, it means that you can drive your boat through the forest and get to your destination faster.
